Pinsefestival på Grorud — Together as God’s Family
On 25 May 2026, members of St. Mary’s Malankara Syriac Orthodox Church joined the annual Pinsefestival (Pentecost Festival) at Grorud kirke, Oslo. The festival brought together congregations from across languages, cultures, and Christian traditions under the theme “Sammen som Guds familie” — Together as God’s Family.
Our Presence
We had a stand at the festival with a TV displaying the church website, QR codes for visitors to explore the site, and parish members on hand answering questions from those interested in learning more about our community and faith.
About the Pinsefestival
The Pinsefestival originated in Oslo in 2014 during Norway’s Constitution bicentennial and has since expanded to cities across the country. It is organised by Norges Kristne Råd (Council of Christian Churches in Norway) in collaboration with Grorud menighet, Groruddalen prostiet, and several other congregations and organisations in Oslo.
The festival addresses themes of inclusion, community, and fellowship — welcoming everyone regardless of background.
